Primary care sports medicine physicians are able to diagnose and treat a variety of different conditions; amongst these are skin/dermatologic conditions. Dr. Clearfield has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of various skin conditions including lacerations requiring suture repair, warts requiring cryotherapy (freezing off) and foreign body removal (ie: splinter or glass embedded deep in your hand or foot). Dr. Clearfield is also an expert in dermatologic conditions of the athlete, lecturing on this topic all over the country. If you have concern about an infection or rash that may limit your athlete from participation, then Dr. Clearfield can evaluate this and provide proper treatment and documentation allowing your athlete to be able to safely return to their sport.
