Joint & Soft Tissue Injections and Aspirations

Dr. Clearfield is trained to do joint and soft tissue injections to treat conditions such as arthritis, bursitis, and/or to aspirate/remove fluid from swollen joints or bursa.  Dr. Clearfield can perform these with ultrasound (US) guidance if needed to ensure proper placement of the injection (which is often the difference between success and failure for an injection treatment!). Hip arthritis injections are always performed under US guidance to avoid accidentally hitting any blood vessels or nerves. Dr. Clearfield often performs corticosteroid injections, viscosupplementation (ie: Synvisc-1 and Euflexxa) as well as Toradol (diclofenac).
