Musculoskeletal / Sport Ultrasound

Musculoskeletal / Sports Ultrasound (MSK US) is a newer innovation that many sports medicine physicians have been trained in over the past decade. MSK US can at times be more accurate to diagnose musculoskeletal condition than MRI, and can be done at the point of care in our office for your convenience! MSK US can also be used to guide injections and other procedures to ensure safe delivery of the injection, avoid neurovascular structures, and increase effectiveness of your treatment. Dr. Clearfield has been performing MSK US for over 10 years and has completed over 300 hours of coursework in this modality and is recognized as a national resource in teaching and instruction in this field.

Neurosonography

Neurosonography is a newer field of diagnostic ultrasound whereby scanning a nerve in numerous areas it can be determined if there is entrapment, impingement, or other pathology leading to the symptoms you are experiencing. This can often be utilized when other diagnostic nerve tests (ie: nerve conduction studies) are inconclusive or as a primary diagnostic tool. Dr. Clearfield has experience diagnosing as well as treating various nerve entrapments throughout the body.
